Is it cheating to take pictures at the zoo? In short, I don’t believe so if you say it is at the zoo and not in the “wild” somewhere.
That being said, the snow leopard, photographed at the Santa Barbara Zoo in California was quite unique. We were on the last leg of our walk through the zoo, which is really a very nice zoo. Not too big; the animals are close enough to see and of course you can’t beat the weather in Santa Barbara. The remarkable thing about this photograph is the eye contact. Most cats are really quite oblivious to people, but this one seemed to look right down my lens. I was really grateful for the bars that separated us.
